Merry Christmas 2008
Merry Christmas to all my clients and friends. This year has gone by so fast and my business has again grown by leaps and bounds. It has been a wonderful year with lots of new clients and children that I have had the pleasure to work with.
There has been a couple of instances that affected my business. Those two were when I suddenly lost my dad and had to go to Sweden to tend to that and then when barely back home four weeks later, our home was severly damaged due to hurricane Gustav and we had to quickly move out of our house. Those of you that were waiting for your prints or proofs during that time, or that were willing to postpone your sessions until I was back at work again. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the patience and kind comments I received from many of you. This truly made me realize how blessed I am to work with so many wonderful and supporting families. I could not ask for a better job and better clients. THANK YOU ALL for making 2008 another great year for my business.
Here are a couple of holiday babies that I have recently photographed and I thought it was very appropriate to share them on my blog at this time.
Thanks again and I look forward to work with many of you again in 2009.

Newborn Photo Session
Here are a couple from this cute little newborn babygirl’s photo session. Her parents did real good and came to me when she was only a few days old. She was a good little one and slept for part of our session.
She settled real well for me when it came time to do the “baby burrito”. It is funny to see how well it does work to swaddle babies to get them to settle in.
If you are expecting a little one and would like gorgeous newborn portraits like these, please contact me (Anna-Karin’s photography) to set up your session. It is best to have the newborn photo session in your baby’s first two weeks. At this time they are more cooperative and the baby acne rash has not yet set in. I am pretty much fully booked for the end of December with regular portrait sessions, but I do have openings for newborn sessions. I plan flexibility in my schedule to fit newborns in as those are more time conscious in order to capture those newborn fleeting moments that are only there in babies first few weeks. I look forward to hear from you!

Maternity Session with Sibling
This is the second maternity session I have photographed for this beautiful lady. The first one was for big brother L that also came along to this session. Mom to be looked so great and stunning and was just about to have her baby. This time around she was able to go a little longer. When I had the first session with her a little over two years ago, she went into labor the following day and L was born the day after. This time around she was able to go about a week after our session or so until little baby brother decided it was time for his arrival.
I have actually had the fun opportunity to photograph this family three times this last month. It was this maternity session and then big brother’s two year old session and then last but not least little brother’s newborn photo session. I promise I will share all of them here on my blog. To start I will show this maternity session.
If you are pregnant and would like beautiful maternity photographs like these. Please contact me to set up a time for your session. The best time to have your maternity photo session with Anna-Karin’s photography is when you are around 34 weeks pregnant.

Blue Eyes
I recently photographed this sweet little boy and his parents at my studio. He has the most beautiful eyes that grab’s your attention.
Little L is just around five months and he is at that great age when babies are happy as long as you talk to them.
Here are a couple of him and his parents. It was fun to get both the sweet hugging images with mom and the flying high playful ones with dad.
If you would like beautiful portraits like these of your family, contact me (Anna-Karin’s photography) to set up a time for your photo session. Only a Couple of Days Old
Here are a few from a recent newborn photo session. This family was so good and came to me when baby E was only a couple of days old. Mom was referred to me from some previous clients of mine, so she already knew that I like those babies in the first two weeks. I like babies of all ages, but when it comes to newborn sessions I prefer them in the first two weeks in order to capture those fresh and unique newborn moments that are only visible for a short period of time.
Another big reason is once baby turns two weeks old , many will get a case of baby acne. Some dont, but the majority do. It is a whole lot easier to photograph a baby with out that rash and the bumpy skin it creates. Also babies that are less then two weeks old are still very sleepy and willing to be put in position that makes for beautiful newborn portraits. With that said, I will still be happy to photograph your baby if you miss that precious newborn stage. However if you are planning ahead and would like some gorgeous newborn portraits like these. Then I suggest you contact me when you are still pregnant and let me know you are expecting a newborn and want to scedule a session. This way we will not miss that special time. I tend to book about three to four weeks in advance. The age I prefer to photograph after the initial newborn session is between 4-7 month. Then the babies are able to hold their heads up and smile. Towards the six -seven month age, most of those babies can also sit up by them selves at that time.
I look forward to work with you. If you would like to set up a time for your newborn photo session contact Anna-Karin’s photography at (225)284-6354 .You can also send me an e-mail through the contact form on my website found at the top left side of this blog.I look forward to work with you and your new little baby.

Shiny Happy People….
Meet happy and sweet little B. Every time I look at her photographs I think about that REM song , shiny happy people. She was so happy the whole time and had the most contagious smile I had seen in a long time.
Also she takes after her pretty mom with that long gorgeous hair. She definitely has lot of hair for being just a baby and only about five months old in these photographs.
During our session little B also impressed us by sitting up by her self for the first time. She was quite happy about it as well!
If you would like beautiful portraits like these of your child. Contact me to set up a session time. I am currently booking for end of November and early December at this point.

Five Month’s Old
Here is handsome little J. His parents were so patient and waited for me to come back from my trip to Sweden in order to have his next session on my babyplan. I usually do it around 4 months of age, but due to my travels we were close to 5 months for J.
His parents brought along an adorable outfit that his dad had worn when he was the same age. It was in perfect condition and grandma came along to make sure little J could fit into it during our session. He looked so handsome in it!
Little J was quite the athlete as well. He held onto his toes real well.
His favorite part of the session was to play with mom and dad.
If you have a little one and would like to schedule a photo session to document the growing stages. Please contact me to set up a session. I am currently booking for the last week of October. If you have holiday portraits in mind, now would be the best time to call for your session time in order to get your order placed before the holiday cut off time. My (Anna-Karin’s photography) phone number is: (225) 284-6354 .

Moments with Mom
I want to share some beautiful photographs from a recent session with a new mother and her baby girl. It is exciting for me to capture these moments because I also was able to photograph little A’s parents wedding almost two years ago. The greatest part of being a professional photographer is being able to capture the joyous moments in the cycle of life.

Sneak Peak Time
I know many of you are eagerly awaiting to see your little ones photographs. They will soon be ready. With the resent Mardi Gras brake my children were off from school for two days , so I am basically two days behind on work due to that. I am trying to be as fast as I can to get them ready for you, meanwhile here is a sneakpeak from two sessions that are awaiting theirs. There will soon be a couple of more sneakpeaks from other sessions eagerly awaiting their photographs. Hopefully the wait will be worth it!
These two adorable little ladies were so charming. Who can resist a sweet little LSU cheerleader? Little C is looking so grown up while standing up between mom and dad’s hands.
Then we have precious little A, she is holding her head up so good while laying on her tummy. I loved her sweet little smile. She was most definitely flirting with my camera!
Both of these little girls are between four and five months old.
