Sisters

k-trike.jpgsisters.jpg

Here are a few photographs from a beautiful family I recently photographed in an outdoor session. I have photographed this little girl since she was newborn. The first time she was 4 days old and now she is one and half. It is so much fun to see how she has changed from the newborn stage to independent toddler talking and walking.

Little K and her sister as so cute together and it is so fun to see their sister bond even though there are quite a few years between them.

On a personl note, those of you following my blog may have noticed that it has been a little while since i blogged last time. I have had to deal with a recent loss in my family but am now able to to get back to business as usual again. Those of you interested to schedule a session I am now booking for early September.

Happy 4th of July!

4th-of-july-girl.jpg

I photographed this little girl this week and this is the first time her family will see these images. She is about to turn one years old any day now and the theme of her party will be 4th of July. I loved how the images turned out and I thought I would put them up just in time here for our national holiday to enjoy.

4th-of-july-girl2.jpg

I will be taking some time off this weekend to spend with my family. I will be back to normal work hours on Tuesday. Just wanted to let my blog readers know in case I am not able to return your calls or e-mails as quickly as usual in the next few days.

Happy holidays everyone!!!

New Little Girls

sweet-k.jpg

Here are two little girls that I recently got to photograph while they were both fresh and new.

One of them was so alert we finally had to wrap her up like a little baby burrito in order to get her to sleep. I guess she did not want to miss out on a party!

Here are just a few samples from each of their sessions, but I got many great ones!

Blue Angels

Well I promised I would share some photographs from my recent vacation. We went to Orange Beach for one week and it was lovely.

We had some great time at the beach and we even got to see the Blue Angels fly at the near by Pensacola National Aviation Museum.

Here are just a few from our trip. I cant wait to go back there again. Even though it is great to be back home and get a routine in our busy summer schedule.

Then a few from our youngest swimming lessons right before our vacation.

First Family Photo Session

k-mom2.jpg

Here is a family I recently photographed. Little B was so good and was happy and alert for most the time of our session.

k-family.jpg

I actually had to turn off the AC at the studio in order to get it a little warm and her sleepy for some images. What ever it takes to get that perfect shot of a sleepy newborn baby!

Little B is also a new member of my babyplan.I look forward to photographing her milestones during her first year.

Stormy Weather

_mg_2324.jpg

The greater Baton Rouge area has for sure gotten it’s fair share of bad weather this past week. I think we could say we have had enough rain for this next month or so.

_mg_2056.jpg

We had an unfortunate event happen at my house during the storm. We had a tree fall down on our house. One branch went right through the sliding backdoor and shattered glass everywhere.

_mg_2318.jpg

This past couple of days I have been a little sidetracked from my normal work trying to deal with getting this mess taken care off. Still waiting for the tree removal company to come by and take care of the big huge tree. Although if you ask my oldest son he thinks we should keep the tree in the yard as it makes for fun tree climbing.

Luckily no one was hurt just damages to our house. My studio did fine during the storm so those of you scheduled for studio session we will do them as planned.

Also during the past few days my youngest son graduated from pre-k. He is such a big boy now and will start kindergarden this coming fall. So enjoy a photo of our recent graduate!!

Fun Outdoor Photosession

funny-j2.jpg

I had such a fun time with this little boy and his family. This is the second time I had the opportunity to photograph handsome little J. He is now one years old and acting so big. Last time he was six month old.

We had a lovely outdoor plantation photo session. Little J really has a great sense of humor. I love the picture of him laughing and putting his hand up to his face. His grand daddy that came along to the session was making him have so much fun.

What a sweet boy little J is!

If any of you reading my blog would like to schedule an outdoor photo session for your family, now is the time to contact me(Anna-Karin 225-284-6354) to set it up. I am currently booking for mid June and on at this point. I do have some openings here and there in between.

First photographs

baby-e-mom.jpg

Here are some sweet photograph of little E and her family. They came to me to capture the moments of her newborn stage and to join my babyplan.

baby-e-w-parents.jpg

We had a good session and little E was actually doing very good. I think she liked to sleep in my studio, lol.

If you are expecting a little one and would like some beautiful timeless photograph of your little one. Contact me (Anna-Karin) to schedule your session. I prefer to photograph the little newborns in their very first two weeks of age, as this is the time they are very sleepy and willing to be put in those bendable baby positions we all want. If you plan ahead and contact me before your baby is due, we can have a tentative date on the calendar for when baby has arrived. I look foward to work with you!

Capturing the Moment - Oklahoma City

oklamhoma-city-memorial-aks-copy.jpg

Sadly, today marks the 13th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. Our family visited this site a few years ago and I wanted to share the images that I captured. If you haven’t visited this memorial, I would encourage you to do so. It is a poignant reminder that everything can change in a moment. In fact, the memorial does a wonderful job of framing the horrific moment of 9:02 am between two gates labeled 9:01 and 9:03. Instead of capturing the horror of the event, the memorial attempts to have us see the victims at peace in their empty chairs staring at the black pool of water between the two gates. I am struck with the reminder that we should constantly learn to live in the minute and be reminded of the peace that can exist in that space.

oklamhoma-city-chairs-aks.jpg

Besides the gate marked 9:01, I have photos of the empty chairs (large ones for adults and smaller ones for the children that were lost). Additionally there is a wall of bells with each one representing a child that is no longer here. Visitors can ring the bells and remember.

I feel fortunate to have a job where I am able to capture all the moments of life.
