Updating my website
I want to apologize for the inconsistency of the availability of my website this past 48 hours. My web host is upgrading their servers and are moving them to a different server. I am still experiencing some difficulty and have been promised it will be taken care of by the end of the day today. So please bear with me while my website is going through this transition.
Those of you that are trying to order your photographs online, I will be happy to extend your gallery for a few days to make up for the inconvenience. Just let me know.
On another note I want to share a beautiful little girl I recently photographed in an outdoor session. She was a sweet and happy little three and half year old. Meet sweet and pretty little E that loves spring flowers and bubbles.
If you want to schedule a spring outside session, I would recommend to contact me soon. I am currently booking for the end of April right now. I have a few open spots on weekdays mid April and on. This time of the year is a great time to do outdoor sessions as the weather is still decent and the beautiful spring colors are everywhere. I look forward to hearing from you.

Tooting My Own Horn-Award Winning Photographer
I am now back from attending a great WPPI (wedding and portrait professionals International)’s annual conference. I learned alot and met many of my great and fun photography colleagues from around the world.
Another great experience for me was that the two photographs I entered into WPPI’s international 16×20 print competition both scored and received a ribbon (saying “award of excellence competition”). The total number of entries for the competition was over 2500 and a print had to score at least 80 points in order to be displayed in the award winning gallery and receive a ribbon. I am not sure how many were featured in the gallery, I am guessing maybe 300. Many great photographs was featured and many was from famous photographers such as Bambi Cantrell or Jesh DeRox and others. It was very inspiring to see the other fantastic photographs featured and the variety of options.
The two I featured was this one of the little boy that currently is featured on my home page for the portrait side of my website. I named that print soulful eyes. The second one to receive a ribbon was my water bride that is featured on my wedding side of my website. (here I am proudly standing by one of my award winning print!)
Even though the majority of the duration during my stay was spent in classes and in the tradeshow . I still had time for a little photography fun. Here are a few from the Las Vegas Strip by our hotel. Also one from the view out of the airplane when leaving Las Vegas. The sky was so pretty and the colors were amazing so I had to capture that moment.
It is nice to be back home and my scedule is back to somewhat usual this week, even though my children have spring brake and my time is a little bit divided by them.
If you are looking to scedule a session I am currently booking for mid April and on at this point.

Plantation Portrait Sessions
Spring is in the air and I get requests daily for out door photo sessions. I absolutely love to have sessions outside. The children enjoy being outside and our session is fun for everyone included.
Here are a few I want to share from a recent plantation session. This sweet little girl had just turned one and her parents wanted to capture this time with a photo session with me.
She was so sweet and happy. Both this little girl and her parents were great to work with. They were up for anything I suggested.I was very happy with the outcome from this session.
Here are just a few of what her family liked as well.
If you are a reader of my blog and would like beautiful photographs like these, feel free to contact me to schedule a session. I am currently booking for mid April and on right now. This is a good time as weather is very cooperative and the warm steamy weather will not set in just yet.

Going to Las Vegas
This coming weekend I am leaving to go to Las Vegas for the annual WPPI (wedding and portrait photographers International) conference and tradeshow. This will be my second time going and I am very much looking forward to it. I will return back on Friday March 21st. If you will need to get in touch with me during this time call me on (225) 284-6354. I will check e-mail but it will be sporadic due to hectic conference schedules. Just wanted to let everybody know what is going on in the next week.
So with that over with, I have some beautiful photographs to share of a new little family. They came to me when little G was only six days old. I know it was hard for mom as she was still recovering from a c- section. However I can honestly say it was worth it. We got some great captures and little G was such a good baby. He was happy and cooperative and slept for most of our session. Little G is one of the newest members of Anna-Karin’s Photography baby plan. Here are just a few of their favorites.

One Light Workshop at Anna-Karin’s Photography Studio
About two weeks ago I had the pleasure to host Zach Arias and his one light workshop at my studio.
http://www.onelightworkshop.com/OneLight/Welcome.html
We were a group of fifteen very talented photographers learning new techniques from Zach. We had participants from Florida, Louisiana and Canada. It was fun and jam packed with information.
Here are two photographs of our models Justin and Leigh from the actual workshop.

Happy Birthday Babies!
I have a baby plan with many little baby clients. This past few weeks there has been lots of birthdays and celebrations at Anna-Karin’s Photography studio. Many of my clients had cake smashes as the grand finale while wrapping up their one year plan of creating photographic memories though out babies first year.
Some of the little ones absolutely loved the cake and wanted to eat all of it, while others did not want anything to do with the cake. It is very fun for me to see how these little ones react. They are all so different in their personalities. The ones that seem kind of shy and careful usually are the ones that “go to town” with smashing the cake. While the ones that are rambunctious and brave throughout our sessions are usually the opposites.
Anyway, here are a few of this last months birthday babies. It is hard to believe that they are already one year old.It sure has gone by very fast!
Then we have the grand finale!
Little J really didnt enjoy his cake after all.
Thanks to Baum’s bakery on Florida Blvd for providing such tasteful yummy cakes for our birthday baby clients!

Little Ladies
Here are a few photographs of two beautiful little ladies. One had just turned one and just about learned how to walk. It was a fun session and we got some milestone photographs captured that day.
The other one is of a sweet little six month old girl. She had just maneuvered how to sit up on her own. What a happy sweet little one. She was so happy with her new accomplishment. Love her expression when she is peeking out under the blanket.
If you have a little one and would like to capture their milestones with a beautiful and timeless portrait session, please contact Anna-Karin’s Photography to schedule your session.
