Newborn Session With Sibling
I recently photographed this sweet little newborn girl. Her big brother came along to the session and he was so proud of his new little sister. He did a great job holding her during some photographs.
This little girl had so many faces, I love the one here that I put together where she is both looking determined, and sad and happy in one. I am sure this is just a beginning stage of showing her personality.
Over all we had a great session and I captured many beautiful photographs of her newborn stage for her family to remember this time.

A Boy and a Ball
I recently had the opportunity to photograph this sweet little boy. He was just about to turn three years old. He brought to the session his favorite toy, a little blue ball.
It was so much fun to see him enjoy playing with his dad and the ball. Amazing how a simple toy like a ball could keep him entertain for a long while. I think I will start to bring balls to all my sessions with little boys from now on!
Little L was such a handsome and happy little man. A pleasure to photograph!
If you would like to schedule a portrait session for your family, now is the time to call me (225 284-6354). I am currently booking for weekends for middle of June and on. For weekdays I have mid May and on available.
I look forward to hear from you!

First photographs
Here are some sweet photograph of little E and her family. They came to me to capture the moments of her newborn stage and to join my babyplan.
We had a good session and little E was actually doing very good. I think she liked to sleep in my studio, lol.
If you are expecting a little one and would like some beautiful timeless photograph of your little one. Contact me (Anna-Karin) to schedule your session. I prefer to photograph the little newborns in their very first two weeks of age, as this is the time they are very sleepy and willing to be put in those bendable baby positions we all want. If you plan ahead and contact me before your baby is due, we can have a tentative date on the calendar for when baby has arrived. I look foward to work with you!

Capturing the Moment - Oklahoma City
Sadly, today marks the 13th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing. Our family visited this site a few years ago and I wanted to share the images that I captured. If you haven’t visited this memorial, I would encourage you to do so. It is a poignant reminder that everything can change in a moment. In fact, the memorial does a wonderful job of framing the horrific moment of 9:02 am between two gates labeled 9:01 and 9:03. Instead of capturing the horror of the event, the memorial attempts to have us see the victims at peace in their empty chairs staring at the black pool of water between the two gates. I am struck with the reminder that we should constantly learn to live in the minute and be reminded of the peace that can exist in that space.
Besides the gate marked 9:01, I have photos of the empty chairs (large ones for adults and smaller ones for the children that were lost). Additionally there is a wall of bells with each one representing a child that is no longer here. Visitors can ring the bells and remember.
I feel fortunate to have a job where I am able to capture all the moments of life.

Little Man in the Park
Here are a few more from another recent outdoor session. This is little J and he is a member of my baby plan. This time around his parents and I wanted something different but the regular studio session and decided that a session in the park would be great.
Little J did so well and had a great time. He was trying to put about every little leaf and stick into his mouth while there. He is such a happy little boy and a true joy to photograph. I did honestly not get hardly any out takes from this particular session.

Baby Girls
Here are three of my baby planner girls. It seems that certain months I have more girls and other months there are more boys. This month it for sure is the girls time!
These girls were so sweet to work with. It is so much fun to see how girly they are at this very young age.
It also makes my job so much fun. All I have to do is talk to these little ones and I get the biggest happiest smiles in return. I love my job!
If you would like beautiful photographs like the ones of these girls. Contact me to set up your session.

Sneak Peek
I have to share handsome little H. His parents are eager to see the photographs from his six month session. They turned out great and I got so many good ones!
I photographed little H for the first time when he was newborn and now six month later I have had the opportunity again. It is so much fun to see how the babies change and grow in that time period.
It was easy to get great photographs of little H. He was such a happy baby and went along with about anything we did.
Enjoy these for now and I will soon have the rest of little H’s photographs ready for his parents to see.

Mommy’s Little Helper-Behind the Scenes Out-Takes
Sometimes during my photo sessions the little ones are not as interested to have their photographs taken. At this time you will probably hear me or the parents make funny sounds or squeaks or other noise in order to get the child’s attention. It works most of the time, but once in a while I will have a little client that is not interested.
This was the case during this photo session. Thankfully my son was actually at the studio during this session. He gladly came to our rescue and became mommy’s little helper. His job was to sit next to little C and keep him entertained while I was photographing him. In this photograph my son is actually pointing to me and telling little C to look at me.
Here are the outtakes from that session and you will see what my son had to do.
It worked out great as little C loved to hang with my son and thus I got the photographs we were hoping for.
I think I owe my son some icecream or hotwheel cars in exchange for his labor that day, lol.
Little C was happy as can be and here is one of the keepers.
