Thank You!
I want to take this moment to say thank you to all my clients that were so understanding during the time I was in Sweden due to the recent loss of my father. It has been so wonderful to have nice and understanding clients who were willing to wait to view their portraits from their sessions. Those who were willing to wait for the delivery of their print order while I was away and willing to wait to schedule their next sessions for when I was back here in Baton Rouge.
I am now back here as of two weeks today! I am almost caught up with everybody, there are a few of you left to see your photographs and they will be ready in the next day or so.
I want to share some highlights from my trip to Sweden in July and August. Since I was there for a kind of sad reason, I did not take as many photographs as I usually do when traveling. I still got many great ones and here are just a few that shows where I am from and how the Swedish summer was this year.
I grew up in the country side and I had a fun time capturing some of the typical views from that part of my home country. Really close to my hometown, we found an organic pig farm. There were hundreds of little piglets running around with their mom’s. It was a fun visit and my little niece enjoyed it so much.
Here is my sweet niece having fun watching the little piglets.
These pretty flowers were picked in my mom’s garden and a friend of hers that used to be a florist put it together this nicely for my father’s funeral service.
My sister and niece.
I grew up in a small town in the middle of Sweden. It is called Säter. This town is several hundred years old (and it is small….lol) . Every summer there is a little festival that celebrates the heritage of this town. I was fortunate enough to be there during this time. People dress up in clothing custom to the time of hundred years ago or so.
Here are just a few fun captures that shows the dancing and performing.
These are chargrilled herring. It was yummy!
Swedes love to eat crawfish just as much as the Louisianian’s. They do it a little bit differently then here in Louisiana though. These are served on platters instead of poured on newspaper clad tables, but still very tasty!
Some typical Swedish pastry! Swedish cinnamon buns, l love to eat those!
This was the first thing I bought when I landed at the airport in Stockholm. Although this photograph is from an adorable little bakery out in Stockholm’s archipelago. I had the pleasure to visit some dear friends summer house in Sandhamn and got to enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery of that island.
This is from Gamla Stan in Stockholm. It is the old town and is very well preserved from hundreds of years ago and a fun place where lots of tourists including me go to.
Last but not the least, a picture of me in front of the Royal Castle! These two young gentlemen and their family is very dear to me. I used to be their nanny for almost five years. I started working with their family eighteen years ago and we are still good friends today. It was so much fun to spend time with them and see them grown up and nice and entertaining to be around. In this photograph their youngest brother is missing, but I also spent time with him and the parents.
Thanks also to all my Swedish friends and family that made my trip home so wonderful. Tusen Tack för allt!
Then the best part of this trip was to get to come home to my own family and my two sweet little boys. That had just started school. Here they are on the way to school my first morning back home.

Anna-Karin’s Babyplan Graduate!
Here is Mr J. His first year has gone by so fast!
He is now one years old and officially graduates from my baby plan. I have enjoyed photographing him during his first year. It has been real fun to see the changes he has gone through from sleepy little newborn to active toddler.
Here is one from our very first session when he was only a few days old. The later ones show what a big boy he is now.
Little J is a happy little boy that enjoys reading, and eating sweet stuff such as birthday cake, lol. I think his most favorite thing is to keep mom and dad busy like a typical toddler will do.
If you have a little one and would like to document the fleeting stages through out the first year, check out my FAQ page on my website for more information about my babyplan. The plan is a great way to document your child’s first year.

Summertime Moments
Here is a family I photographed a little while ago. They live in a beautiful house and I got to go there and enjoy an outdoor photo session. There was so much to photograph from their horse to their daughter enjoying playing with the sprinklers and picking flowers with mom.
The whole session was great and the weather was cooperating as well. I love this family photograph of them by the little lake behind their house. Such a peaceful and relaxing place for a session.
Enjoy little T having some fun with the sprinklers.
If you want to schedule an outdoor session for some beautiful portraits. Now is a good time, the holidays are really just around the corner. Contact Anna-Karin to schedule a time for your session. (225) 284-6354.

Maternity Photo Sessions-babies are on the way!
Lately I have photographed lots of maternity sessions. It must be all those holiday babies that are about to arrive, lol!
Here are a couple of images from two recent maternity sessions. Great clients and easy to work with.
As a matter of fact I had the opportunity to photograph this couples little sweet newborn baby girl just the other day. One of my favorite things about my maternity sessions is that I get a chance to learn to know the couple and parents to be.
The best part of these maternity sessions is that I often get to photograph their new little ones as well. So much fun! By the time we do the newborn photo session we are like good old friends.
If you are expecting a baby and would like maternity photographs to document this very special stage of your life. I have a new maternity package as of early July that includes a beautiful keepsake leather album with portraits from your session to document this very special time of your life. For more information feel free to contact me (Anna-Karin) at 225.284.6354 to set up your session.

Happy Feet!

I know this title is perhaps a little silly, but when I view this very first image of happy little G it makes me smile and think happy feet!
This sweet little boy is always so good during our sessions. He was great for his newborn and now at his four month session he was just as happy again. All I had to do was to talk to him and he would shine up like a ray of sunshine. I think he takes after his beautiful mom!
If you would like beautiful portraits like these of your little one, contact me to set up your session. Either use my contact form to send an e-mail through my website, http://www.annakarinsphotography.com/ or call me (Anna-Karin) 225.284.6354 to set up your session. I am right now scheduling sessions for second week of September.

I am published in MD News Medical Magazine
For this past year I have been photographing for the S. Louisiana MD News Magazine on a regular basis. It has been real fun and a big change from my regular work of mainly families. My photographs have been their cover shot for several issues. I thought it was time to feature some of that work here on Anna-Karin’s Photography blog.
For this recent issue of MD News I had the opportunity to participate in a surgery at OLOL.
Here are just a few of the very talented Dr Majoria from our session while he was working. The fun in this session was that I got the opportunity to work with gels on my strobes. This was a new experience but I was up for the challenge.
For more information about Dr Majoria and the surgery he performed check out the MD News issue at your local dr office waiting room.
If you are looking for a commercial photographer in Baton Rouge area with experience. Feel free to contact me (Anna-Karin) @ 225-284-6354.

Sisters
Here are a few photographs from a beautiful family I recently photographed in an outdoor session. I have photographed this little girl since she was newborn. The first time she was 4 days old and now she is one and half. It is so much fun to see how she has changed from the newborn stage to independent toddler talking and walking.
Little K and her sister as so cute together and it is so fun to see their sister bond even though there are quite a few years between them.
On a personl note, those of you following my blog may have noticed that it has been a little while since i blogged last time. I have had to deal with a recent loss in my family but am now able to to get back to business as usual again. Those of you interested to schedule a session I am now booking for early September.
