Thank You!

I want to take this moment to say thank you to all my clients that were so understanding during the time I was in Sweden due to the recent loss of my father. It has been so wonderful to have nice and understanding clients who were willing to wait to view their portraits from their sessions. Those who were willing to wait for the delivery of their print order while I was away and willing to wait to schedule their next sessions for when I was back here in Baton Rouge.

I am now back here as of two weeks today! I am almost caught up with everybody, there are a few of you left to see your photographs and they will be ready in the next day or so.

I want to share some highlights from my trip to Sweden in July and August. Since I was there for a kind of sad reason, I did not take as many photographs as I usually do when traveling. I still got many great ones and here are just a few that shows where I am from and how the Swedish summer was this year.

I grew up in the country side and I had a fun time capturing some of the typical views from that part of my home country. Really close to my hometown, we found an organic pig farm. There were hundreds of little piglets running around with their mom’s. It was a fun visit and my little niece enjoyed it so much.

These pretty flowers were picked in my mom’s garden and a friend of hers that used to be a florist put it together this nicely for my father’s funeral service.

I grew up in a small town in the middle of Sweden. It is called Säter. This town is several hundred years old (and it is small….lol) . Every summer there is a little festival that celebrates the heritage of this town. I was fortunate enough to be there during this time. People dress up in clothing custom to the time of hundred years ago or so.

Here are just a few fun captures that shows the dancing and performing.

These are chargrilled herring. It was yummy!

Swedes love to eat crawfish just as much as the Louisianian’s. They do it a little bit differently then here in Louisiana though. These are served on platters instead of poured on newspaper clad tables, but still very tasty!

Some typical Swedish pastry! Swedish cinnamon buns, l love to eat those!

This was the first thing I bought when I landed at the airport in Stockholm. Although this photograph is from an adorable little bakery out in Stockholm’s archipelago. I had the pleasure to visit some dear friends summer house in Sandhamn and got to enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery of that island.

This is from Gamla Stan in Stockholm. It is the old town and is very well preserved from hundreds of years ago and a fun place where lots of tourists including me go to.

Last but not the least, a picture of me in front of the Royal Castle! These two young gentlemen and their family is very dear to me. I used to be their nanny for almost five years. I started working with their family eighteen years ago and we are still good friends today. It was so much fun to spend time with them and see them grown up and nice and entertaining to be around. In this photograph their youngest brother is missing, but I also spent time with him and the parents.

Thanks also to all my Swedish friends and family that made my trip home so wonderful. Tusen Tack för allt!

Then the best part of this trip was to get to come home to my own family and my two sweet little boys. That had just started school. Here they are on the way to school my first morning back home.
