Girly Girl…..

w-window2.jpg

Lately I have photographed a lot of little girls. Sometimes there seem to be a steady stream of a certain gender and right now the girls win that one. Here I is one of the prettly little girls and many more to come in the next few blog posts.

This is sweet little W. She was a member of my babyplan and just graduated. We ended her plan with a grand finale outdoor session. It turned out perfect. The weather was just right and little W was in a great mood. The portraits turned out beautifully!

I have enjoyed working with little W and her family. Mom just told me that a little sibling is on it’s way so that is so exciting and I look forward to see if he or she will look like W.

If you are trying to get in touch with me, try to call me first. We are finally getting ready to move back to our house that was damaged during hurricane Gustav.  We are so eager to get to spend the holiday at home in our own home. So right now my computer time is limited until we get a little bit more packed.

If you would like to schedule a session for your little one. I am currently booking for early January and on at this time. For more information contact me (Anna-Karin’s Photography) through my website contact form or call me at (225) 284-6354.

Snow in South Lousiana

 _mg_9553.jpg

Today we woke up to snow here in Baton Rouge. This is certainly a rare occasion. This is only the second time it has snowed in the ten years I have lived here. Last time it was only about an inch or so. This time I think we had at least 3 or 4 inches.

My kids were thrilled when they heard school was canceled due to snowy weather and outside they went to play. I can honestly say all those years growing up as a kid in Sweden. Not once was school canceled due to snow. On the other hand people are much more prepared for snow over there then here. Many here most likely don’t even own anything to scrape the snow of the windshield on their cars.

So we had fun and made some snowmen and found some of our neighbors were outside playing as well in snow. Hope you and your kids take advantage  of this and let the kids have fun in the snow. I am sure this snow will be gone by the afternoon today. Excuse the snapshot quality of these photographs. These are merely to show how unusual it is to have snow down here. This  coming weekend they are calling for warm weather , in the 70’s again.

Even I got wet and played with the kids.

Siblings in Outdoor Photo Session

a-family-copy.jpg

I had a great time at this session. These fun three siblings were  up for having their photographs taken. Mom wanted to make sure I got a nice group portrait of them all together and I sure did. It was actually very nice to see how these three kids seemed to get along so well.  I think they had fun as well. Mom later told me that one of her girls wished they would have a session with me soon again. I thought that was fun to hear and I take that for a compliment that she must have enjoyed our session.

Newborn Photo Session

sweet.jpg

Here are a couple from this cute little newborn babygirl’s photo session. Her parents did real good and came to me when she was only a few days old. She was a good little one and slept for part of our session.

family-g.jpg

She settled real well for me when it came time to do the “baby burrito”. It is funny to see how well it does work to swaddle babies to get them to settle in.

If you are expecting a little one and would like gorgeous  newborn portraits like these, please contact me (Anna-Karin’s photography) to set up your session. It is best to have the newborn photo session in your baby’s first two weeks. At this time they are more cooperative and the baby acne rash has not yet set in. I am pretty much fully booked for the end of December with regular portrait sessions, but I do have openings for newborn sessions. I plan flexibility in my schedule to fit newborns in as those are more time conscious in order to capture those newborn fleeting moments that are only there in babies first few weeks. I look forward to hear from you!

Here is sweet little C. She came to my studio for a session right about the time of her first birthday. Sweet little C is on my baby plan and I have enjoyed photographing her during her first year. This was the first time I got the chance to meet dad that came along to the session.

We had fun and little C was enjoying our session and the cake she got to smash at the end. The yummy cake was once a again supplied by Ashley Stephen’s.

Family Photo Session

little-c.jpg

This was little C’s first time to have a photo session. She had recently learned how to sit up by her self and this is a perfect time for a photo session. to capture this lovely age.

little-c3.jpg

She was so happy and easy going and we got many great captures from her session.

Her parents also brought along a little holiday pajama to get the holiday feel captured in a few of her images. She makes a a cute little elf!
